A tragedy

The tragedy of our day, we are more concerned with happiness than holiness. – Leonard Ravenhill

If you want to see God seek holiness. If you want a reward now seek happiness but don’t expect to see God.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matt 5:8 ESV)

Seek to be pure, perfect and holy before God. Anything else is pathetic, powerless, man made religion. Read and study Gods commands and do them with all your might. Pray, pray and keep praying. Good theology is worthless without the Holy Spirit of God changing a life. If you assume you are going to sin and don’t seek to escape from it, to be free of sin, what are you doing thinking you are following Christ? Did Jesus tell the adulterous woman who he did not condemn to go and sin less? No! He told her to go and sin no more. Either that is true or it isn’t. Either Jesus wants us to obey perfectly or he doesn’t. There is no room for luke-warm followers, Jesus doesn’t put up with it. He spews them out of his mouth. Either we pursue complete devotion to God and freedom from sin or we pursue what we can conjure up in our minds based on scripture to excuse our fleshly desires and sin. The devil told Jesus (God in flesh and he knew it) with scripture that it is not so bad to sin, you will still be God. He is the author of lies. He is telling people, it is not so bad to sin, everyone does it, you will still be christian. Dirty, filthy lies spew out of his mouth always.
Behold the power of God, he can’t deliver his people from sin. I don’t know about you but I believe he has all authority, especially over sin. He can take it all away in an instant.
Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who have died to sin still live in it?
What is true?
